Current Walthamstow Academy Year 11 Students

Log in to walthamstow.applicaa.com and select the courses they would like to study at sixth form.

External Year 11 Applicants

We welcome applications from all external candidates to study at our sixth form. Once candidates have submitted their online application form at walthamstow.applicaa.com they will be contacted to attend an interview which provides an opportunity to find out what their future at the Academy will look like. External applicants must complete and return the online application form as well a reference from their current school which includes their predicted grades.

Deadline for application is Monday 24 February 2025

Application and admissions procedures

All candidates will need to meet the minimum academic entry criteria of a minimum of five grade 5+ GCSEs, including English and Maths.

Entry Requirements

GCSE results usually provide a clear indication of the most suitable pathway for a student to pursue. In order to access our Sixth Form Curriculum, students require a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 5+, including a pass in English Language and Maths. In addition, there are specific entry requirements for some A Level courses that may require a grade 6/7+ in relevant subjects, these requirements can be found on page 6 in the Prospectus below. Each student will be considered on an individual basis, taking into account their application and references in accordance with our admissions policy.

Curriculum

We offer a wide range of both traditional academic A Levels and Level 3 BTEC courses, with both routes providing a clear progression on to university. Upon entry into the Sixth Form, students in Year 12 will receive the following curriculum offer based on their GCSE results:
